A Little More (The End of an Era)
I wish I had been able to fully form this in the original post, but here's something else I wanted to say.Most politicians see elections in terms of wedge issues, because it divides the electorate into "us" and "them." If a politician can find issues where 65% (or more) of the voters agree with him, no matter if those issues are really important, he's going to focus on them as much as he possibly can.
In other words, he only wants to take a stand on issues where "us" is greater than "them."
When so many people are playing games, though, gamers ARE the "us." So it's useless as a political tool for these goofballs, except (as I noted yesterday) in more regional races.
